Mustangs Wrangle Wins Over Crusaders
Taking on the defending champs (Boys) and runners-up (Girls) in the season opener was no easy task, but the Crusaders fought hard and gave a great showing, although we did drop both the Girls and the Boys matches.
Last season the Boys B team lost 0-5 to Meadows and won just one singular game. This time around EVERY SPOT won at least one game and overall we won eight games! Kudos to Lambi and Luca for playing singles and the doubles duos of Benji/Yuran, Aiden/Ben, Nathan/Mason for their efforts in the scored matches, and special mention to JD/Mason, who were up 3-1 in a Bonus match when time was called. Congrats to all the Boys.
Girls took a real run at the Lady Mustangs! We dropped the singles spots to two USTA tournament players, but both Maya and Reign had some excellent moments. Viktoria teamed with Grier to post a win at 2nd dubs and Audrey/Emma got a win at 3rd doubles to tie the score. Carys & Paulina were playing a tough tandem at 1st doubles but played them SO close! Several games, including the last two, went to Duece and both Paulina and Carys came up with some great shots.

We always make note of the players that earned their First Crusader Wins...and this time Emma and Audrey both earn that distinction. Well done ladies...and the way they ran over to report the score seems to indicate they were pretty happy with the result! :-)
Loved the cheering for everyone and the camaraderie, and while we did not get into the overall win column, this was a good start to what will be a good year for this bunch.
